What resin is used for ink

Publisher: Administrator Date:2023-11-13

There are four types of resins commonly used for ink: acrylic resin, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, and phenolic resin. It can also be divided into two categories: solid packaging and liquid packaging.

1、 Acrylic resin is a general term for polymers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and their derivatives. Acrylic resin coating is a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin coating or acrylic radiation coating made by copolymerizing (methyl) acrylate and styrene with other acrylic resins.

2、 Epoxy resin refers to a type of polymer that contains two or more epoxy groups in its molecules. It is a condensation product of epichlorohydrin with bisphenol A or polyols. Due to the chemical activity of the epoxy group, various compounds containing active hydrogen can be used to open the ring, solidify and crosslink to form a network structure, making it a thermosetting resin. Bisphenol A type epoxy resin not only has the largest output and the most complete variety, but also new modified varieties are constantly increasing and the quality is constantly improving.

3、 Polyurethane resin, abbreviated as PU. A type of polymer with a main chain containing NHCOO repeating structural units. It is formed by polymerization of isocyanates (monomers) and hydroxyl compounds. Due to its strong polar amino ester group, it is insoluble in non polar groups and has good oil resistance, toughness, wear resistance, aging resistance, and adhesion. Materials that can adapt to a wide temperature range (-50~150 ℃) can be prepared using different raw materials, including elastomers, thermoplastic resins, and thermosetting resins. It is not resistant to hydrolysis or alkaline media at high temperatures.
